TV Designer Learns Moving Out Can Be Traumatic

COLUMBIA, Mo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Moving out of a cherished home isn’t easy but checking it out after others have moved in can be just as traumatic.

That’s what TV designer Doug Wilson has learned while filming two seasons of the TLC reality show, Moving Up, which shows people returning to their old homes a few months after moving.

Wilson says some of the people get really emotional seeing how their home has changed and “can’t always let go.”

But the moving process is also hard on new owners. Wilson says one family was forced to hire an exorcist to get an old ghost out of their new home.

Wilson says he’s never had to go that far personally and figures “a new coat of paint is my form of exorcism.”

The second season of Moving Up debuts Oct. 8, and Wilson says if the show lasts past the next Presidential election, he’d like to do an episode at the White House with George W. Bush so he can see how the new President and First Lady change the dwelling.
