‘Killer Instinct’ Star Glad Show Isn’t Playing The Name Game

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actor Johnny Messner plays a policeman in the new FOX drama, Killer Instinct, and he cops to the fact that he didn’t like the show’s original name.

Killer Instinct – which debuts today (Sep. 23) – was originally titled The Gate, a title that Messner wasn’t particularly fond of because, as he puts it, “I didn’t know how that title would compute into our show, aside from we’re set in San Francisco.”

Before The Gate, the show was called Deviant Behavior, a title Messner liked but he admits he “can’t imagine many sponsors wanting their name attached to it.”

Now that the name has been settled on, Messner is hoping Killer Instinct catches on with viewers. Although the Friday time slot is potentially tough, he likes it. As he puts it, “You’re under the radar. Expectations aren’t as high.....The X-Files and CSI started in this time slot, so I see it not as a problem but as an opportunity.
