‘King Of Queens’ Cousin Promises To Baby Kevin James

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Bringing a baby into a long- established sitcom is a time-honored way of announcing the show has “jumped the shark.”

That’s one reason why Kevin James and Leah Remini’s characters on The King Of Queens still don’t have kids after eight seasons.

However, the writers have fashioned a novel way to test the waters of how James’ character interacts with a kid – by having his cousin have the child instead.

Actor Gary Valentine plays James’ cousin on the show, which has its season premiere today (Sep. 19). He says one of the show’s arcs this season involves his character having a child and leaving it with the James and Remini.

Valentine doesn’t know if his character’s new kid will inspire the Heffernans to make one of their own but he does think his sitcom brother would be an excellent father in real life.

As he puts it, “I’m single but if I had a kid I would definitely let Kevin be the babysitter.”
