Dogs Go Right For the Balls

ST. LOUIS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – If you want your pet dog to go nuts, give him lots of balls.

That’s the doggone opinion of Janine Adams, author of a canine cookbook called You Bake ’Em Dog Biscuits Cookbook (Running Press). She says dogs go “gaga” over balls but is referring specifically to her homemade “Peanut Butter Crunch Balls.”

Adams claims even picky pooches gobble them up two at a time adding, “Your dog doesn’t care what size they are.”

Inspired by her pastry chef husband, Adams came up with over 50 recipes to satisfy different pooch palates and needs, including low-fat “Carrot Biscuits” for pudgy pooches while dogs with diarrhea should stick to “Sensitive Tummy Treats” made from baby food.

But you may have a bone to pick with the recipe for “Cheesy Liver Training Treats.” Adams warns that the smell of cooking liver is “not pleasant” and admits, “I was gagging the first time I cooked it.”

However, Adams’ most bizarre canine concoction may be the gelatin and chicken broth, “Poodle Jellies,” which she describes as “Finger Jello for dogs.”
