Orman will be speaking at the Hip-Hop Summit Action Networks Financial Empowerment Series, a function headed by rap music mogul Russell Simmons.
Orman claims the hip hop generation is in financial trouble, and she plans to teach them how to, in her words, make more out of less.
She says hip hoppers dont know what their FICO credit card scores are; pay 25 percent in credit card interest when they dont have to; and have ruined their credit so much that they cant even rent an apartment.
Thats why she plans to get down to their level.
Orman says she knows she can reach the younger investors because, like them, she grew up in the inner city of Chicago, and secondly, because young hip hop males are the No. 1 demographic of her weekly show on CNBC.
