‘Bewitched’ Historian Bewitched By Kidman

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Nicole Kidman bewitched a Bewitched historian for her upcoming movie Bewitched.

Herbie J. Pilato is the author of Bewitched Forever (Tapestry) and is a consultant on the movie remake due out this summer.

Pilato says his job was to make sure the film stayed true to the original TV show, despite taking a Victor/Victoria approach in which Kidman plays a witch who is pretending to be a mortal actress who is pretending to be a witch.

Pilato says movie producers camped it up for the film when they reshot scenes of the original TV show in front of a live audience – which never happened in real life.

But Pilato sees Kidman’s role as ironic since she wore a fake nose for her Academy Award-winning role in The Hours and now she’s twitching her nose for Bewitched – quite well, he adds.

However, Pilato says Kidman admits co-star Will Ferrell is even better at nose-twitching.

It’s also well-known that actors Dick York and Dick Sargent both played the role of Darrin, and as Pilato explains it, Jim Carrey was first approached for the movie version of Darrin, but because Ferrell got the part, that would make him more akin to Sargent.
