April Fools’ Day Parade Ready To Roll Out

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A media hoaxster whose hobby is fooling folks is preparing for his annual April Fools’ Day Parade in New York.

For 20 years, Joey Skaggs has been throwing his parade, although, roughly the first 15 years the parade was just part of an elaborate hoax.

Skaggs says it was about five years ago that so many people started coming out for it that he began building floats for the parade.

The route starts at noon on 59th Street and winds its way to Washington Square Park where they crown the King of Fools.

This year’s parade theme is “Divided We Stand” and Skaggs says it will “memorialize the efforts made by people around the world to maintain their power.”

To that effect, a Dan Rather lookalike will be the Grand Marshal and other lookalikes such as George W. Bush, Donald Trump, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jimmy Swaggart and Bill O’Reilly will march in the parade.

Skaggs expects a turn-out in the hundreds this year.
