Meet Wing: New Zealand’s Answer To William Hung

AUCKLAND, New Zealand (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Now that William Hung’s 15 minutes of fame are over, the world can now enjoy Wing Tsang, his New Zealand equivalent.

Wing Tsang is a former nurse-turned-singer who has been entertaining folks in Auckland area rest homes for the last 10 years.

However, in the last two years, she’s become an online sensation thanks to her unique warbling on everything from Andrew Lloyd Webber to the Carpenters.

Celine Dion and Mariah Carey probably have nothing to worry about, but Wing’s fans are so fanatical that she has been able to quit nursing and work on a fulltime recording career that includes eight separate CDs.

Despite never having performed outside of New Zealand, Wing has fans all over the world, mostly people into off-key warbling.

Wing may not get the exposure of Hung but she has released eight CDs, including her latest, Beatles Classics By Wing, which contains warbly renditions of “I Want To Hold Your Hand” and “Let It Be.”

No word on when Wing will parlay her success into a world tour, but she is giving her Kiwi fans a command performance this Saturday (March 5) at a music festival in Auckland.
