GET LOUD ON CAPS LOCK DAY (Apr. 9)
Shout it from the rooftops: TODAY (Apr. 9) is National CAPS LOCK DAY.
Friday, April 9, 2010 17:14 GMT
GLEN ROCK, N.J. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) TODAY (Apr. 9), MAKE THE LATE BILLY MAYS PROUD AND WRITE EVERYTHING AS LOUDLY AS POSSIBLE.Its National CAPS LOCK DAY, a holiday created by Frank Hughes III to celebrate writing loud and proud.
He explains, I wanted to cause a little bit of a cheeky disruption on a normal day and I think writing in all caps is the way to do it.
The made-up holiday also pays homage to the late great king of infomercials Billy Mays, who Hughes considers the inspirational poster boy for everything caps lock stands for.
The fact that Mays usually talked as if he was writing in all caps makes him the only man fit to serve as the face of the holiday, even though hes no longer alive.
Hughes asks all participants to write in nothing but capital letters today to honor Mays and the caps lock key on their keyboard.
