BOCA RATON, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It’s possible to go to college without going broke, students just have to ask for cash nicely.That’s the advise from financial aid expert Reecy Aresty, who’s helped kids get money for school for the past 31 years and runs paylessforcollege.com.
Aresty says there are billions in college funding available at all times. If students “ask nicely” for assistance, schools almost always “open up their checkbooks.”
There are several unique ways to score financial aid.
For instance, students from the south going to school up north could request a “clothing allowance” for as much as $2,000 to buy gloves, boots, and thermal underwear.
They can also request cash for travel expenses and gas.
Aresty says getting financial aid is a strategic game, so it’s important “not to ask for everything in the first round.”
His biggest pay-off was when he scored $18,030 in aid for a Princeton student whose total bill for college was only $15,252.
