AUSTIN, Texas (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One TV mom has checked herself into rehab and it’s having quite the opposite effect – she’s more of a druggie than ever.Angela Rawna plays drug addict mom Regina Howard on Friday Night Lights.
To nail the gritty role, Rawna – who’s never played a druggie before – checked herself into a real rehab facility in Texas.
A former addict walked her through what it’s really like to be a junkie by taking her to the streets where she used to score drugs.
Rawna did rehab in full-on character, from dreary clothes to little make-up, but the hands-on research has made her meaty role on FNL much more authentic.
She wants to play a lawyer next so she can visit a courtroom and sit in on trials, though the “good debater” doesn’t need to do much research on how to win an argument.
FNL returns to television this April.
