Tom Brokaw Will Work For Food

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – In this economy, even renowned newsman Tom Brokaw will work for food.

Brokaw recently took a road trip across the legendary U.S. Highway 50 to chat with average Americans for his TV special, American Character Along Highway 50, airing January 18 on USA Network.

Though his primary focus was to discover how everyday folks are coping during these tough economic times, a man’s gotta eat.

Brokaw admits he loved stopping at roadside diners along the highway because he’s a “comfort foody kind of guy.”

The homestyle meals made up for all the traveling he also had to do by airplane during filming since he notes, “I ate more than my share of airport food too.”

While America’s cooking seems to be just fine, Brokaw says the country’s spirits are too, as many people are optimistic and determined to “pull themselves up by the bootstraps” despite the recession.
