At least that’s the case with the Belly Love, a couch created by Paris-based designer Florence Jaffrain.
It’s made of soft foam covered in glow-in-the-dark fibers that move making it seem as if the cozy seat is alive and wrapping you in warmth.
It also releases a pleasant fragrance in the air, since it’s proven that feelings of love are often connected to specific scents.
Jaffrain calls the Belly Love a “paradise of the senses and vessel for the body,” and was inspired by the look and feel of soft coral found in the Indian Ocean.
She adds, “It’s called a ‘Belly’ because it takes us back to our life in the womb and also because it breathes and feels like protective male figure. So really the chair is androgynous or like a hermaphrodite.”
