Burly Bikers Are Real Sweethearts

STURGIS, S.D. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Deep down inside, burly, tattooed bikers are really just a bunch of sweethearts.

So says Michael Ballard, owner of Full Throttle Saloon, the world’s largest biker bar in Sturgis, South Dakota.

It’s only open two weeks a year during the infamous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, at which time Ballard says bikers are warm, friendly, and welcoming to newbies.

They have “no hang-ups” about anyone. They’re just blue-collar Americans who enjoy wearing leather and riding hogs.

To fit in, Ballard says newbies should just be themselves and knock back a few beers.

Getting inked at the bar’s on-site tattoo parlor doesn’t hurt either.

By the end of the rally, Ballard says most bikers have made lifelong connections with other riders.

In fact, he’s pretty sure “several babies” have been happily conceived at Full Throttle.

His wild bar – which also features midget wrestling and sexy bartenders – is chronicled in a new show, Full Throttle Saloon, premiering tomorrow (Nov. 10) on truTV.
