Soap Star Screwed By Suits

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Real life has taken a dramatic turn for soap star Eric Braeden.

Braeden, who’s played Victor Newman on The Young And The Restless for nearly 30 years, is abruptly leaving the daytime soap.

Corporate suits recently broke their contract with Braeden and demanded he take a pay cut or walk, and he opted for the latter.

His final episode airs November 2, but it’s hardly closure.

Braeden admits to being completely “blind-sided” by the ordeal, especially because he’s been so loyal to the soap.

In fact, two years ago he voluntarily took a pay cut so the show could continue filming.

While Braeden is appalled by his treatment, in a way, he’s also over it.

He’s “stopped caring” about Victor Newman, despite having deep respect for his cast and crew.

Still, he wishes his iconic character could have a better send-off – perhaps with a final steamy love triangle – though he’s never thought much about his departure until now.
