‘30 Rock’ Writers Play At Work

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – People get pretty stir-crazy in the writers’ room of the comedy series 30 Rock.

Just like the fictional writers on the show who slack off from their work with silly games, the actual writers of 30 Rock have their own time-wasting activities.

According to Emmy-winning writer and co-executive producer Robert Carlock, the scribes enjoy playing what they call “Paddly Marbly,” which was invented after someone found practice paddles for boxers and a bunch of Star Wars marbles.

Each player gets a paddle, which they place over one hand, and throws marbles at the other player while deflecting oncoming marbles.

Meanwhile, Carlock does his best to “limit distractions” in the writers’ room by keeping it bare of anything too fun to play with.

However, they always seem to find a way to mess about since the staff tends to act like “a bunch of children.”

30 Rock airs Thursdays on NBC.
