Parking Officers Aren’t The Enemy

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Parking officers aren’t such bad guys after all.

Parking Wars, which follows meter maids on their day- to-day business, premieres its third season tomorrow (Oct. 6) on A&E and aims to show the human side of drivers’ worst enemy.

Co-executive producer Dan Flaherty says, “People like to hate them. It’s a tough job, so it’s interesting to see it from the parking officer’s point of view.”

With his help, meter maids in Philadelphia – where the show films – get a little more love from locals.

Now, instead of screams and fights, the officers are greeted with warm hellos and asked to be photographed with fans.

Despite this, Flaherty still doesn’t get any preferential treatment.

He laments, “I’m still subject to the same laws. I saw one of the officers we work with giving out tickets. She didn’t give me a ticket because there was still time on the meter, but she definitely would have.”
