Tomorrow (Sep. 29), chef Farshid Hakim of La Provence Cafe will devote six hours to baking a delicate but enormous French macaroon.
Hakim says itll be 24 inches wide, much bigger than normal two-inch macaroons.
His biggest challenge will be working with about 100 egg whites, which are notoriously delicate and must folded in and cooked just right.
Hakim explains, Its such a picky ingredient, you want to kill it.
Hes also concerned about measuring everything perfectly, since its not like he can just double a regular macaroon recipe.
After Guinness World Records examines the creation, Hakim will allow onlookers to taste it, though he wont divulge how many calories are in the massive almondy treat.
He hopes even celebrities line up for a piece, since his macaroons are eaten by stars like Brad Pitt, Marisa Tomei, and Jack Nicholson whenever they cheat on their diets.
