Top Word On Boob Tube: ‘ObamaVision’
AUSTIN, Texas (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The top word of the 2009 TV
season can be attributed to President Barack Obama.
The Global Language Monitor, which tracks trends in word
usuage around the world, has released their annual analysis of
the top words on TV to influence the English language and
“ObamaVision” is No. 1.
It refers to the prez’s presence all over television, all
the time.
Other popular boob tube words and phrases include...
“Financial Meltdown,” referring to all things
encompassing the economic crisis, including bailouts and bonuses.
Michael Jackson, who had the biggest TV funeral in
history this past August.
Susan Boyle, the frumpy-turned-famous British
singing sensation.
“Vampires,” who’ve resurfaced all over TV
thanks to Twilight.
Dar Dour, the Iraqui TV show that spoofs the
attempt to live an ordinary life.
“And that’s the way it is,” the late
Walter Cronkite’s signature newscast line.
