Host Yearns For Tough Pageant Questions

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – There’s nothing like watching a pretty little pageant queen squirm in her heels.

Just ask Access Hollywood host Billy Bush, who’s hosting the 2009 Miss Universe Pageant this Sunday (Aug. 23) live on NBC.

Bush admits he gets a cheap thrill out of watching pageant contestants attempt to answer the dreaded final question on stage.

That’s because the whole pageant leads up to their answer, and Bush says those 30 seconds are the best drama on TV.

The live Q&A session has made instant celebrities out of queens like Miss California Carrie Prejean, whose opinion on gay marriage made headlines earlier this year.

Bush says the girls with unique or controversial answers often get more press than the winner, so their words carry a lot of weight.

Bush, however, has even more power since he holds the mic up for them as they answer.

He explains, “I can save someone if I drop the microphone.”
