Trapped Neighbors Go Nuts

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It’s a terrible day in the neighborhood.

There Goes The Neighborhood is a new reality series/social experiment where an actual neighborhood is enclosed within a 20-foot around wall.

Residents of the eight houses within the walls are forced to only interact with one another and the last family standing wins $250,000.

Series creator Mike Fleiss got the idea for the show from the film The Truman Show and from The Simpson’s Movie, where the citizens of Springfield were trapped in a giant plastic bubble.

Fleiss admits that greed over the prize money destroyed many of the long-lasting friendships between the neighbors on the series, who probably won’t be borrowing sugar from one another any time soon.

Though he thinks the show will make compelling television, Fleiss admits he would “never” put himself in that situation.

Neighborhood premieres Sunday (Aug. 9) on CBS.
