It’s Alive!

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Art is very much still alive.

It’s livening up at the 2009 Pageant of the Masters, an exhibit being held now through August 31 in Laguna Beach, California.

At the event, which is in its 76th year, classic paintings from history’s greatest artists are recreated as “living pictures” with real people posing to look like their counterparts in the original art pieces.

Famous works of art by artists like Frida Kahlo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Salvador Dali are getting a lively makeover as part of the Festival of the Arts.

This year’s theme is “The Muse,” which focuses on the people and places that inspired these artists’ amazing work.

Pretending to be a painting isn’t too tough for those serving as models, since they only need to stay posed for 90 minutes.

However, a good stretch before and after posing helps ease the aches of being turned into a live masterpiece.
