There must be something in the water in Corvallis, Oregon, home to the Da Vinci Days Festival which celebrates art, science, and technology this weekend (Jul. 17-19).
According to spokesperson Brenda vanDevelder, the fest was created because there are a ton of scientists and artists that live and work in the area, and one of them may possibly be the next Da Vinci.
She explains, People are absolutely more creative here. People celebrate creativity and it certainly inspires others here. I think we all have the potential of being the next Leonardo Da Vinci.
If any of the braniacs in town want to follow in Leos footsteps, vanDevelder advises them to stay curious and constantly learn new things.
They can also test their brain power by building a human- powered car for the events kinetic sculpture race, and do right by Da Vinci with their ingenuity.
