Artist Writes Love Letter On Buildings

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Love is all around, especially in West Philadelphia.

That’s because artist Steve Powers is writing a massive love letter that will span 50 walls and rooftops of buildings alongside Philly’s elevated train in a project for the Mural Arts Program called Love Letter.

So far, Powers has completed two walls and should be finished by September.

He says his love letter is for the city of West Philadelphia, where he was raised.

However, Powers insists anyone can feel the love.

He explains, “The letter is meant for one but has meaning for all. It’s a story of two people reconciling. It’s vague enough so people can put themselves in the story. Anyone can feel it’s about them.”

And he hopes they do.

Powers says one of his goals is that people riding the train will read the huge letter and think it’s about them.

Maybe then it can lead two separated lovers to get back together.
