Patriotic Places Across America

SUITLAND, Md. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Patriotism runs deep in America – in some places more than others.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are 31 places nationwide with “liberty” in their name.

The most populous is Liberty, Missouri, home to roughly 30,000 Americans. Iowa boasts more “liberty” than any other state: Libertyville, New Liberty, North Liberty, and West Liberty.

There are also 31 places with “eagle” in their name – the bold bird that serves as America’s national symbol – like Eagle Pass, Texas.

“Independence” is in the names of 11 places across America, such as Independence, Missouri.

Five places have adopted the name “freedom,” like Freedom, California, which has a population of about 6,000.

The tiny town of Patriot, Indiana – the only place with “patriot” in its name – has a population of about 190.

Finally, five places throughout the country are called “America,” like American Fork, Utah, with a population of more than 26,000.
