The sudden death of TV pitchman Billy Mays has left many fans saddened, but Jim Meisenheimer known as Americas best sales trainer says Mays leaves a lot to be learned behind.
Mays enthusiastic approach to seemingly average products like Mighty Putty and OxyClean detergent made him a sales king, and Meisenheimer thinks Mays infomercials should be shown in business schools.
He says, What made him successful was his extreme enthusiasm, how animated he was, and that he was very passionate about his products. It certainly can be taught.
Meisenheimer says Mays was so good at what he did that his name and face became part of the product, which is something all wannabe pitchmen should strive for in their career.
He advises those in sales who want to get anywhere near Mays league to take notes when watching his infomercials.
