The Cant Touch This rhymer who currently stars on his own reality show called Hammertime says the King of Pops death has hit him harder than most not only because he had a close relationship with Jackson, but because the icon was Hammers dance inspiration.
Hammer recalls watching the young Jackson get down with his bad self on television as a boy, and how that made him love dancing.
He says, Theres no way I wouldve been the performer I am without him. If you were a kid in the 60s and 70s, you automatically were dancing like Michael Jackson. That was my foundation.
Hammers Jackson-inspired moves were so good as a kid that newspapers would tout him as the next MJ.
Though Jackson is now gone, Hammer says the spirit of his dancing lives on forever.
Hammertime airs Sundays on A&E.
