Artsy folks who like to boogie can combine their two pastimes with Paint Dancing, an event in Berkeley, California, this Friday (Jun. 26).
Co-creator Beth Hird says attendees will be given paints, brushes, and a soundtrack of funky reggae, hip-hop, blues, and jazz to jam to while stroking the canvas.
Though some choose to multi-task by getting their groove on while painting, others sometimes cant stop the funk, drop their brushes, and get down with their bad selves mid-stroke.
Hird says the music and dancing allows artists to forget their inhibitions, and because its such a high-energy environment the art produced is always bright and happy.
She says, People get excited by the process. The energy builds like a wave and ends in a crescendo. Its really fascinating to watch.
