“The Wedding Chapel” is a project dreamed up by the folks at Grand Opening, who currently use their storefront as an interactive space for quirky, fun wedding ceremonies.
Spokesperson Kevin Fey says the chapel is the Big Apple’s most fun and affordable wedding venue and provides lovebirds custom decor, backdrops, a photographer, and a live Internet stream so friends around the world can watch their ceremony.
If you’re in love but don’t want to really make the commitment, the chapel also performs mock wedding ceremonies where couples can pledge their vows – at least for the time being.
This allows couples to express their undying affections without having to go through a pesky divorce should the fire burn out.
Grand Opening is performing weddings now until July 26, and is accepting donations to keep the love alive.
