Legos Fix Crumbling Buildings

BERLIN (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Damaged, crumbling buildings can get a much needed facelift from a simple kid’s toy.

German artist Jan Vormann is helping rebuild and repair buildings across Europe that have been damaged over time through his project Dispatchwork.

Vormann fills in missing brick, concrete, and stone with bright, colorful Legos, helping the structure regain its stability and keep from falling apart any further while giving it a boost of contemporary design.

Vormann loved making things with Legos as a kid, and enjoyed “digging deep into the box to finish a structure.”

Even as a boy, Vormann admits he’d patch up his creations if they started to fall apart with any Lego he could find – regardless of its color, size, or shape – much like many of the old buildings in Europe are built.

He finds it funny that he’s continued doing this into his adult life.
