Thats the scoop from haunted real estate experts Bonnie Vent whos aided in the sale of spooky homes and Mary Pope-Handy, who collects creepy tales from paranormal real estate agents on HauntedRealEstateblog.com.
According to the agents, many people looking to buy a new home often ask to see haunted properties because they think itll lower the value of the house, but theyre dead wrong.
Vent says, People are willing to put up with whatever if the house is cheap, but haunted homes arent actually cheap unless a murder just occurred there. That brings the value down.
Adds Pope-Handy: After five years though, that house goes up in value. We saw that with the Sharon Tate house. To me its just creepy. You dont want a haunted house if the lights are flickering.
