Afros Save Families From Foreclosure

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Having a groovy afro can save peoples’ homes from foreclosure.

At least that’s what organizers of the “World’s Largest Afro Wig Photo Shoot” are hoping for.

They’re inviting anyone with an afro or an afro wig to be photographed on March 28 in San Jose, California, in an effort to raise money for single-parent families in danger of having their homes taken away.

Though organizer Virgil E. Robinson worries that people may be suffering from “donor fatigue,” he thinks the economic crisis has inspired everyone to look out for one another and give back to their fellow man.

Along with raising cash, Robinson and his afro-sporting cohorts will create and set the world record for the largest afro wig photo shoot, but it’s not a record he cares to hang on to.

He says, “We’re encouraging other cities to try and break our record while having a fundraiser that will help their community with an issue it’s facing.”
