Stacy Horn has penned Unbelievable: Investigations Into Ghosts, Poltergeists, Telepathy, And Other Unseen Phenomena, From The Duke Parapsychology Laboratory (Ecco), a book about a group of scientists who devoted research to proving and disproving paranormal occurrences between 1930 and 1980.
Horn says their most fascinating experiments revolved around telepathy and psychokinesis, and ultimately proved that people could move objects using only their minds.
One experiment involved subjects influencing the outcomes of dice rolls, while another used ESP cards with pictures of stars and wavy lines and asked students to say what image was on them without looking.
Statistically, most people get five out of 25 correct, but Horn says Duke scientists discovered that a lot of people predict many more right, perhaps telepathically.
Despite decades of research, Horn says the Duke Parapsychology scientists have never been properly acknowledged for their findings because the science community doesnt want to accept that telepathy exists and that theres something beyond our understanding happening out there.
