‘Bachelor’ Creator Doesn’t Care If Fans Boycott Show

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss isn’t fretting over the backlash the dating show is receiving.

This past Monday (Mar. 3), Bachelor Jason Mesnick dumped his fiance Melissa Rycroft on national TV, revealing he was still in love with runner-up Molly Malaney and wanted to date her instead.

Fans are outraged by the show’s insensitive move – which many speculate was rigged – and are threatening to boycott it, but creator Mike Fleiss isn’t worried.

He says, “If people don’t wanna watch it, don’t watch it. I’m not really that concerned.”

Fleiss insists producers had “zero involvement” in Mesnick’s shady decision and all parties knew what they were getting into before signing up for The Bachelor.

He explains, “The show is supposed to be difficult to watch. It’s all part of The Bachelor universe.”

Although Fleiss argues that Mesnick wasn’t contractually bound to break up with Rycroft on air, he admits it made good TV.
