Aussie Actor Gets Beat Up By Ian McShane

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Being Ian McShane’s punching bag is all in a day’s work for one Hollywood newcomer.

Australian actor Christopher Egan plays opposite McShane in NBC’s modern-day David & Goliath adaptation, Kings, premiering March 15.

Egan plays the David character, making McShane the Goliath, and he’s already getting pushed around by the seasoned Deadwood actor.

He explains, “Ian has to beat the crap out of me a few times [onscreen] and there’s a lot of blood on my face.”

Although their intense, dramatic scenes are often “frightening,” Egan says he and McShane laugh through the takes and are cool with each other afterwards.

Egan says the biggest real-life Goliath he’s ever experienced isn’t McShane but rather showbiz itself.

He moved to Hollywood from Australia a few years ago and aspires to make it big like Aussie icons Mel Gibson and Nicole Kidman, despite the tough competition.
