Dracula Isn’t Hating On ‘Twilight’

TORONTO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Twilight’s Edward Cullen may be the hottest vampire around, but his forefather, Dracula, isn’t hating on him.

Vampire expert Dr. Elizabeth Miller – who’s studied Bram Stoker’s Dracula for years – believes the old, evil Count wouldn’t be threatened by the new vampire in town because he’s the original bloodsucker who paved the way.

The only thing Miller says Dracula and Bram Stoker would be disappointed in is how Hollywood has romanticized the vampire.

She explains, “The original Count Dracula was evil and dark. Edward Cullen is a nice guy who happens to be a vampire. They’re from completely different universes.”

She thinks it’ll be interesting to see how many Dracula references are used in Twilight, so a new generation learns about the Count who started it all.

One thing people may not know is that in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, the fanged one walked around in broad daylight. The myth of vampires being killed by sunlight only started in Hollywood.
