Deepak Chopra: ‘Jesus Was A Teenage Anarchist’

DENVER (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Every teenager has a rebellious phase, and Jesus Christ is no exception.

The good Lord is just like us according to famed new age author Deepak Chopra, who chronicles the lost years of the Savior’s early life in his new book, Jesus: A Story of Enlightenment (HarperOne).

While researching, Chopra discovered that Christ was a rebel in his formative years, cavorting with a radical group who plotted to overthrow the Roman government.

Chopra says, “Jesus was very much a rebellious teenager. One could almost say he was an anarchist, but he didn’t want to do anything in a violent way. He was still gentle.”

Chopra believes that the reason the Church chose to omit Jesus’ wilder years from the Bible was because, much like a Black Panther, the young Christ was offering too much “power to the people.”

He says, “Jesus would quote the Old Testament and tell people ‘You are also Gods.’ He was saying anything he can do, they can do as well. He offered power to the people instead of the Church.”
