At least thats one teenagers morbid fantasy in Cringe (Random House), a compilation book of angsty teens diary entries.
Author Sarah Brown can confirm that all teens are overly dramatic.
She explains, Everythings a tragedy. In one breath theyre upset nobody loves them, and then theyre mad because their mom didnt buy them Guess Jeans.
In fact, some kids are so over-the-top, they even plot to kill Hollywood hotties.
In Browns book, one kid confessed to writing to the producers of the original 90210 requesting they kill off Brandon Walsh.
But in Browns own diary entries as a teen, she was more of a tortured, pining lover, not a fighter.
She says, I eighth grade I liked a boy, but wouldnt write his name. Id write Him with a capital H like he was Jesus.
Brown hosts something called Cringe Night Wednesdays in Brooklyn, where people can share their own cringe- worthy teen diaries.
