Interior Design Guru Says Money Doesn’t Buy Style

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Famed interior designer Todd Oldham says money can’t buy style.

Oldham mentors contestants on Bravo’s home decorating reality series Top Design, and insists that a big design budget doesn’t necessarily equal a stylish outcome.

He explains, “It’s an old-fashioned notion that style has to do with money. I’ve seen rich affairs and homes with horrible taste!”

Instead, Oldham says good design depends on creativity, uniqueness, and individual style, and believes living spaces should reflect people’s personalities.

He’s come across the worst design “catastrophes” at chain hotels and restaurants, where he often shakes his head at what could’ve been.

Oldham says, “It’s always tragic when you see a design and know there are better choices out there.”

He believes Top Design raises the bar for home decor and will show everyday folks how to design in style without breaking the bank.

Season two of Top Design premieres tomorrow (Sep. 3) on Bravo.
