‘Greatest American Dog’ Cast-Off Is A True Star

FLINT, Texas (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One Greatest American Dog eliminee is lapping up all the attention she can get.

This past Wednesday (Aug. 27), Bill McFarlin and his purebred Brittany dog, Star, were eliminated from Greatest American Dog.

Despite their ousting, McFarlin says his pooch is still a star – and totally knows it.

Star has been getting recognized by fans on the streets who jump at the chance to pet and talk to her.

He believes Star is starting to realize she’s kind of a big deal and is testing her boundaries with Dad in the process.

McFarlin explains, “Star understands the attention she’s getting so just like a little kid, she pushes her limits to see how much I’ll let her get away with. It’s real funny.”

Still, he assures Star is a well-mannered lady, who isn’t just a dog, but a “companion.”

He says, “She’s my bestest friend. She’s always with me wherever I go except for the days she feels like staying home and roaming the backyard.”

Greatest American Dog airs Wednesdays on CBS.
