Classic Board Game Gets An ‘Operation’

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One classic kid’s game is getting an “operation.”

For 40 years, kids have showed off their surgical skills on a patient named Cavity Sam with the board game Operation, and now the old favorite is getting a face- lift.

Game-maker Hasbro has cured the old health problems Cavity Sam suffers from, like a funny bone and butterflies in the stomach, and diagnosed him with new ailments.

Now, amateur kiddie doctors can remove new “funatomy” pieces like a frog in the throat, cell phone finger, and toxic gas, hearing newly-added sound effects while they play.

Cavity Sam even got himself a pair of fresh new undies.

Hasbro spokesperson Pat Riso says, “Sam is finally wearing underwear. The best game designers went through different underwear designs to make sure he got the right pair.”

The patient will be modeling his new polka dot boxer shorts in a fashion show today (Aug. 5) on Freshpair.com in celebration of National Underwear Day.

The new version of Operation is available in select stores now and hits shelves worldwide in September.
