Centenarians Keep Up With Tabloids

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Centenarians may be old, but they’re still keeping up on the latest new Hollywood gossip.

Evercare has just conducted its 3rd Annual 100 @ 100 survey of centenarians, and it looks like pop culture never gets old.

American Idol seems to be the favorite show blaring on centenarians’ TVs, with 40 percent of oldies recognizing judge Simon Cowell, and 45 percent being able to identify season four Idol winner Carrie Underwood.

Other elderly stats include...

  • 63 percent of centenarians would like to have Bill Cosby over for dinner, while 63 prefer dining with Tiger Woods, and 58 percent with Oprah.

  • 53 percent of old folks would never invite wild child Britney Spears to their dinner table, while 47 percent cite shock jock Howard Stern as their most unwelcome dinner guest.

  • 3 percent of centenarians have dated someone they met online, while 12 percent of them have used the Internet.

  • 3 percent of silver surfers use online encyclopedia Wikipedia.com, 3 percent have bought a gift online, and 2 percent have visited a political website.
