Pro Surfer Rides Wave Of Singing Success

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One pro surfer is riding high after perfecting his pipes.

Timmy Curran – a pioneer of surfing’s “Aerial Revolution” – is releasing his debut album, Word Of Mouth, tomorrow (Jul. 22).

While he’s excited to show fans his singing skills, he’s even more excited about finally being able to jam with his musically-inclined family.

Curran says pretty much everyone in his family has musical talents, from his dad and uncle who play guitar and sing, to his grandma who plays the organ.

He explains, “They always play music together at family gatherings. Christmas and Thanksgiving are full of mini concerts. Now I can actually play with them!”

Curran has been trying to get his music off the shore for about 10 years, and is finally riding a wave of success after recently opening for bands like Foo Fighters, Switchfoot, and Eisley.

He hasn’t come up with a song while floating in the middle of the ocean yet, but surfing has inspired one tune.

His song “Daylight’s Coming” is all about the happiness that comes from going surfing before the sun comes up.
