Psychiatrist Becomes ‘Queen Of The Road’

BOULDER, Colo. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One psychiatrist left behind a comfortable life in Colorado for the open – and bumpy – road.

When Doreen Orion and her husband Tim packed up all their belongings to travel across America in a 340-square-foot bus, they didn’t realize the wild adventure they would have.

Orion, who details the year-long trip in her memoir Queen of the Road: The True Tale of 47 States, 22,000 Miles, 200 Shoes, 2 Cats, 1 Poodle, a Husband, and a Bus with a Will of It’s Own (Broadway Books), says, “We dealt with armed robbery, a nudist RV park, and a fire on the bus, but it’s the happiest we’ve ever been.”

Through the journey, Orion discovered that all that matters in life is “to be with the people you love,” and that, “You haven’t lived until you’ve done naked karaoke.”

Though the road had some bumps in it, Orion and her husband enjoyed the adventure so much, they’ve decided to sell their home and live full-time on the bus.
