‘Nashville Star’ Eliminee Croons To Her Cat

MARTIN, Tenn. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The latest Nashville Star reject may not be a singing superstar, but she still has one furry fan at home.

Alyson Gilbert was given the boot from Nashville Star this past Monday (Jun. 30), but that won’t stop her from crooning country tunes – especially to her cat.

Gilbert – an animal lover who studies veterinary science at the University of Tennessee – has a cat named Basha who she’s been serenading since kittenhood.

She says Basha “loves it” when she sings to her and often takes her furry feline to rehearsals.

She explains, “I pick her up and walk around with her while I sing. She usually gets quiet and puts her paw on my face. It’s very cute.”

Like humans, Gilbert believes animals have deep connections to music and utilize it as a stress reliever.

Gilbert plans to keep helping animals, but for now, is focused on her music career.

Nashville Star airs Mondays on NBC.
