Warren Zevon Had Crazy Celebrity Connections

BARRE, Vt. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Late musician Warren Zevon had some crazy celebrity connections.

Crystal Zevon, Warren’s wife from 1974-1981, is the author of I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead: The Dirty Life and Times of Warren Zevon (Harper), which delves into the dark world of the singer, best known for his hit “Werewolves of London.”

Though his alcoholism was widely publicized, Crystal says there’s plenty the public doesn’t know about her talented and tortured husband, including his celebrity connections.

As a teenager, Warren was friends with legendary composer Igor Stravinsky.

Warren and neurotic comedian Richard Lewis also shared a close bond, and Warren once lived in the same apartment as Billy Bob Thornton.

Crystal says, “He and Billy Bob Thornton had contests to see who was the most OCD. They became best friends!”

Despite his dark side, Warren wasn’t a demon.

She says, “He could treat people really badly. But if he was going to The Palm for a steak dinner, he’d take his roadie. He was the most loyal friend.”

I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead is out now.
