Fat Kids Need To Hit The Bar

LOMBARD, Ill. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A former gym teacher is pulling for an end to childhood obesity.

Rick Osbourne is the author of Operation Pull Your Own Weight: A Radically Simple Solution to Childhood Obesity (PYOW Publishing), which pushes for kids as young as six to do pull ups on a height-adjusted bar twice a week.

When the bar is raised in inch increments, Osbourne says kids will quickly progress from jump-assisted pull ups to pulling their own weight.

It’s a stomach-slimming solution kids can take a big bite out of.

He says, “You can eat a Big Mac every day, but as long as you can do pull ups, you will not be obese. It’s that simple.”

Ousbourne also says when kids take pride in the gradual, incremental progress of his pull up prescription, they will excel in the classroom as well.
