Superheroes Have To Look Hot

MONROE, N.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – When it comes to memorable superheroes, looks go a long way.

In his book Draw Comics Like A Pro: Techniques for Creating Dynamic Characters, Scenes, and Stories (Watson-Guptill), cartoonist Al Bigley gives tips on how to create an awesome superhero, and he says beyond strength and smarts, sexiness is the main power a crime fighter should have.

He explains, “Superheroes need to be admirable and have a nice physique so that it captures the audience’s fancy. They’re usually very tall, have bigger jaws, and flowing hair.”

For Bigley, the hottest superhero is Batman because, as he puts it, “He dresses like a bad guy and has a cool car.”

Caped crusading vixens aren’t left out either.

Bigley says, “The guys that draw the comics tend to draw female superheroes like idealized women, with a small waist and big bust. They’re targeted at the guy living in his parent’s basement.”

Draw Comics Like A Pro is out now.
