Oaksterdam University is a trade school that offers tokin training for the medicinal marijuana industry.
The cannabis-loving college offers 12 courses, including Politics and Legal Issues, Cannabusiness, Cooking, and Budtending, in which stoner students learn to dispense dope to consumers.
According to university chancellor Danielle Schumacher, the medicinal marijuana industry is quickly emerging, but no one is teaching quality training.
She explains, We dont want people who dont know what theyre doing running dispensaries, because its very serious and there are a lot of patients that need to get their marijuana in a safe way.
Though puffing pot isnt part of the curriculum, many dopeheads try to enroll in classes, but are turned away.
Schumacher says, We filter out people who arent serious or interested in learning.
The university hopes to raise reefer awareness and show that marijuana can contribute positively to society.
