Actor Prepared To Battle Real Monsters

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – For one actor, battling monsters may become an off-screen profession.

In the Sci-Fi Channel’s latest show, Rock Monster, an American college student played by newcomer Chad Collins battles a monster made entirely of rocks, and Collins thinks he’s ready for real monster mangling.

He says, “I’d like to get more training, maybe with a master swordsman, before I go up against any more big daddies like this one. But I came out of that unscathed, so I think I’ve got a good chance if I battle any real monsters.”

Collins says preparing for the role was challenging because, as he puts it, “It’s hard getting all amped up when it’s a pebble you’re fighting.”

Still, getting into the rough and tumble of fighting a computer-generated monster was still no easy task.

Collins explains, “Let’s just say I’m not professionally trained. I went hunting and fishing as a kid, that’s about as wild as it gets.”

Rock Monster premieres this Saturday (Mar. 22) on the Sci-Fi Channel.
